Internet Communication with Cellular Backup

Internet communication with cellular (GSM) backup means that your alarm signals are transmitted primarily through the Internet—but if the Internet is ever unavailable, the signals are routed automatically through a cellular network such as Bell, Rogers or Telus, without a break in transmission. This type of communication allows you the possibility to remotely control your security devices from your smartphone. This communication backup method is the most secure as there is virtually no risk of sabotage, since there are no lines to cut.

Maintenance Service

We believe in the quality of the equipment we offer and are proud to include maintenance services to cover the cost of equipment and labour charges required to replace defective equipment. Maintenance services exclude equipment and labour charges for batteries, home automation equipment such as the video doorbell, and standalone cameras. Please refer to the residential contract for a detailed list of inclusions and exclusions. Maintenance service is included in the initial term of applicable packages.

Having to go and verify the reason for an alarm is not always reassuring, and sending in law enforcement can sometimes be costly if it is a false alarm. That's why we offer our clients the services of a security guard who can go to the site to inspect the perimeter and determine the cause of the alert.

GardaWorld's security guards are selected through a strict hiring process, which includes a thorough background check, as well as rigorous training provided by certified instructors who specialize in security, first aid and fire prevention.

Internet Communication

Internet communication uses Wi-Fi to transmit alarm signals to the monitoring centre. It requires you to have an Internet subscription with a provider such as Videotron or Bell, and a strong and consistent Internet connection. This type of communication allows you the possibility to remotely control your security devices from your smartphone. If you don’t have a landline and have a residence in an area with limited cellular coverage—such as a cottage up north—then this communication type is a great option.

Mobile App

All our packages give you access to our mobile app, Total Connect 2.0, letting you control your home security system and compatible smart home devices from your phone. You can also access the web-based app from your computer. What you can do from the app depends on your equipment and package. For example, the app lets you arm and disarm your system remotely, receive video doorbell notifications, talk through your video doorbell, and control certain small appliances remotely.
